The Journal Bibliometric Report (JBR, Report) is an interactive online application that displays the results of the evaluation of scholarly journals published in the Republic of Serbia.

Journals are rated according to their (a) impact (citation counts, impact factors) and (b) bibliometric quality. The quality indicators are adjusted to the development needs of local journals and the local academic community. Based on the rating, the journals are classified into the tiers determined by the appropriate regulation of the ministry responsible for science in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

As an information basis for ranking journals in the JBR, their performance in SCIndeks, Web of Science, Scopus and DOAJ is monitored and exploited to varying extents. To determine violations of ethical standards, information provided by the services Verifier and Mind the Trap developed by CEON/CEES is also used.

The JBR is published annually. It is cumulative in character, offering an insight into all annual reports from 2002 onwards, enabling users to track the performance of individual journals. Throughout the period covered by the JBR, the evaluation methodology has been repeatedly improved in order to align the indicators with the changes of the relevant national regulations, the new requirements arising in the European ecosystem and scientometric doctrine, but also to take advantage of the new possibilities that information technologies offer in journal evaluation. The changes in the methodology that affect the comparability of results for individual years are specifically highlighted in the application.

Note:
This version of Help applies to editions of the JBR for 2016 and subsequent years. The requirements for determining the tiers were different in the previous editions of the JBR. The most important differences are described under Previous ratings.
